Course Details

Covers the relevant documentation, physiology, engineering design, theory of operation, clinical application, performance verification and corrective maintenance requirements for cardiovascular equipment including:

  • Electrocardiographs (ECG’s) – 3, 5 & 12-lead ECGs for diagnostic & patient monitoring applications
  • Defibrillators, both manual and Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s)
  • External pacemakers
  • Invasive & Non-invasive blood pressure monitoring (IBP & NIBP)
  • Pulse oximetry and blood oxygen saturation monitoring (SaO2 / SpO2)
  • Patient Monitors and Cardiac output monitoring.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand device operation and clinical application of relevant equipment.
  • Be competent to performance verify and maintain relevant equipment.
  • Apply appropriate safety and medical equipment servicing standards.

Course duration: 2 days (16 hours) face-to-face with e-learning (≈ 8 hours).
